EpicQuest Dungeoning

Getting started

This page is the player loop. Authors should read Authoring dungeons after they have run one key themselves.

You need an unbound Dungeon Key and a Dungeon Keystone the pack placed somewhere. The keystone is useless until the key is attuned.

Attune on an anvil. The other item is whatever that dungeon asked for. The pack’s JEI page usually shows it. Quartz for a quartz dungeon is the example in the CurseForge notes. The key’s tooltip should name the dungeon after the anvil.

Put the key in the keystone. A portal opens. Walk through. You land on a Dungeon Player Spawn inside a generated layout. It is not the same hallway every time. Jigsaw pieces stitch together in a void.

Clear the place, or press the return button when you have had enough. Everyone who is in that run shares a 10 second extract. You come back out at the entry portal. The instance is wiped. Next key, new generate.

If nothing generates, the key does not match that stone, or the pack’s dungeon files failed to load. That is an author problem, not a “break more blocks” problem.
